Dr. Lisa VandeBerg was born and raised in Menomonie. She has a degree in Biology from UW-River Falls (1987) and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison in 1992. After vet school, she completed a year-long internship in equine medicine and surgery at Kansas State University and then worked at Range Animal Hospital in Ironwood, Michigan (doing both small animal medicine and equine) until 2000, when she moved back to Menomonie to work at a small animal practice. She started Painted Pony Equine Service, an equine ambulatory practice, in 2002. Due to aging, she went back to small animal work in 2020, starting Pet Care Xpress LLC. She has also been providing cat spay and neuter and dog neuter service to the Dunn County Humane Society since 2002.

Dr. VandeBerg has a hobby farm SE of Menomonie where she has chickens, pigs, goats, horses, dogs, and cats. In the tiny sliver of time left after working and taking care of the animals and the farm, she also enjoys kayaking, reading, riding, baking and cooking.
